Plot Segmantation for Bruce Conner's Report (1967)

The Report – Plot Segmantation

– Live report from radio or television of the moment of JFK's assassination is played in intersection with repeated live footage of the occasion.

– Video footage changes to a flickering background image and only audio is there to inform.

– An image of a man holding up a rifle is replayed consecutive times while a reporter describes the police action in the scene where the shooting took place.

– A man describes the moment of the shooting while a video showing Jacqueline Kennedy waving while sitting by JFK in the car he was shot. The car moves repeatedly and slowly until the it moves out of frame.

– Another reporter mentions that JFK received a blood transfusion while a short video clip of an ambulance with JFK is replayed over and over.

– A bystander describes in detail how the shooting took place. He mentions that more than one shot was fired and that the rifle was about 15 feet away from where the President stood. A video of the president saluting the crowd from his car is played – again repeatedly.

-A description of a suspect's appearance is given by the police.

- A reporter announces the president's death. He also describes the scenario around him. No relevant imagery is shown.

- The film goes silent. An image of a man riding a horse is followed by a snippet of Lincoln's Statute and the President Kennedy meeting the Pope.

- Images of a matador (which in Spanish means "killer") is intercalated with a Mass orated by the pope. A man reports the arrival of Air Force one with the President and the First Lady. Unrelated images are shown, one being of an old commercial for a fridge, and another of a nuclear explosion.

- Another reporter describes a parade with the president. A mention of security is made by the same reporter. What seems like unrelated images are juxtaposed with the parade.

- The matador kills the bull. Images of war are shown.

- A clip of a woman wearing a headset and pressing a button which reads "sell" ends the film.
